Tudo Bem! I just returned from a 10 day adventure to Manaus, Brazil. I still struggle to find the appropriate words to describe the experience and the impact on my heart. I'll rely on some of the photos to tell the story. Yes...it is me grimacing at the thought of touching the alligator.

Friends and family,

It is just days now until I depart for a Mission Trip to Brazil. I will be heading back to Manaus again this year and working with many of the same missionaries I met last July. We will again go by boat up the Amazon River to meet with people in the interior villages of the jungle. This trip, I will be going as a leader for our team of ten folks in total from Peoria. It is blessing to be going, yet at the same time I sense the responsibility of my work as the day of our departure draws closer. Please pray for our team, our work, and my capabilities as a leader. The scent of spring descended upon Peoria this weekend. The snow in the back yard is almost melted. I have no delusions thinking that we won't have snow yet again this winter...but it was nice to play in the spring like weather on Saturday. Jeff took me to the Cake Shoppe for samples of the wedding cake flavors. I had two of each kind...just to be sure I liked them. The joys of being engaged! This weeks photo shows me "digging in" to the sample we took for the road.

Friends and Family,

Jeff, Jeff's parents, and I headed southwest on Saturday to see Lauren (Jeff's daughter) at school. It was a beautiful sunny crisp winter day. We enjoyed walking around campus and seeing just a few of Lauren's favorite spots in St. Louis. By the time we returned home, I didn't want to get out of the car and have the day end.
