Photo of the Week - April 28, 2013

This week included another 'Compassion filled weekend' as Jeff and I went to Chicago land area for a conference. We met with Daniel, pictured here, who was raised as a 'Compassion kid' in Kenya and is now studying in the US with the dream of returning home to Kenya for work. Left with quite a vision of how we can help change the story from poverty to dignity, one child at a time.

Jeff and I presented Compassion International at First Baptist Church in Pekin today. We were so touched by a 15-yr old boy who took responsibility to sponsor a boy his age from Kenya. He committed to his Mom that he would be responsible to raise the $38 per month to cover the cost of supporting his new friend. May we all live with such open hands to serve.

Dear friends, Andrew & Marianna, tied the knot on Saturday. Love them both dearly. . . .Love them even more as a couple. Jeff and I had a blast. He 'cut a rug' with me as we celebrated the new union. Wedding receptions are truly some of the most joyful event! This one was no exception.






I added a photo of Marianna and me together at each of our weddings. Special moments with an amazing woman.

Check running a 5K with Lauren off my bucket list. We had so much fun in St. Louis on Saturday AM, I'm sure it won't be our last. This rekindled my desire to run. Overall, a successful, medal worthy day!
