Ethan celebrates his 18th Birthday today = fun party at the Hoerr house on Saturday night. He and his friends are such neat kids, or shall I say, adults?! Happy Birthday, Ethan!

This weekend I had plenty of fun in the kitchen in preparation for a baby shower and a wedding reception. Silly me took photos of the food and forgot to snap the smiles on the guests of honor. Well, I guess I was shocked and proud of my creative abilities. I pulled off the party favors for the baby shower and the chocolate covered strawberries for the wedding reception. They looked nice...tasted better.

Enjoy a sweet this week...but not too many!

Friends,

Awesome weekend of music and compassion. Jeff and I volunteered for Compassion International this weekend at not one, but two concerts. We enjoyed some classic tunes at the Amy Grant & Michael W. Smith concert, but my favorite act was Jars of Clay at the Rock & Worship Roadshow.

Speaking of Compassion, I found this site this week. It is simple, but had me thinking...

Friends,

My 'fun in the sun' weekend was derailed by a blizzard. Jeff and I had plans to head south to Mexico for Ryan and Katy Schick's wedding. 15 inches of snow kept us from flying through Chicago on Thursday AM. After some moments of disappointment, we had a great weekend at home. Enjoy the blizzard pictures. Yes, we left the comfort of our home to drive to the nearest DQ. We were hoping to find it open so we could get Blizzards in the blizzard. Not the best discernment, but fun.

ps. Both Ryan and Katy made it to Mexico safely. Congrats to them both!
