On Monday, we celebrated the life of Jeff's Aunt Nonie. While I didn't know her long, I was impacted by the immense love she had for her husband, Mel. At my wedding shower she told me some sweet stories about Mel and I remember thinking that I hoped to love Jeff like she loved her husband.

We went to a Derby Party on Saturday. I did my best to dress for the event despite not having a hat. Jeff didn't want to change after working in the yard and decided that the derby is in fact a horse race - He could go dressed as is and represent the common man - the jockey, and others who work with the horses. I think he is precious and these photos turned out just perfect!

It was a rainy day in Champaign on Saturday. . . .all the more to make Lauren's first 10K memorable. We all decided to consider it as an adventure rather than miserable weather. She ran, we cheered and we all celebrated with brunch and various excursions around town in the afternoon. Lovely day, including the rain!
