Photo of the Week - June 24, 2012

Jeff and I celebrated our 2nd wedding anniversary a few days early...with our parents! Our parents are so cool that we agreed to a weekend getaway with all four of them. We watched a play and enjoyed the quaint shops in Shipshewana, Indiana. This 30 hour adventure is one Jeff and I will treasure for years to come.

A few Americans, a Canadian, a Russian, a Brit, a Chinese, a Japanese, A Frenchman, a Swiss, an Irish bloke and an Argentine went to the top of Victoria Peak...No, it isn't a joke. It is the title of this week's photo. My international team at work meet for a face-to-face meeting in Hong Kong. We were wise enough to build in some sight seeing of the lovely city.

Photo of the Week - June 10, 2012

Yesterday morning as I was running, I was questioning why Jeff, Jared and I volunteer with the children's ministry at church. Every other month we perform drama for the k-3 grades. If your family is like ours, a few extra hours on a Sunday morning are priceless and I sometimes (well lots of times) grudgingly go to church early for the drama. Yesterday we received a new crew of kindergarten kids and promoted last year's 3rd graders to 4th grade. The little ones seemed so little as they walked into the 'big kid' class. One brought a stuffed animal, all brought their enthusiasm and most brought a need to 'go potty'. As I watched these kids sing and dance with all their hearts, I realized that helping with drama was the priceless gift I was meant to have on Sunday mornings. Serving with Jeff and Jared and seeing these kids in action...my heart was happy. Enjoy.

What goes into crafting a radio program? What does the broadcast room in a radio studio look like? How does the radio industry work anyway? We had dinner with Jeff's cousins Jim & Jean Huber on Friday night. I got the full tour. We had a blast at WBNH studio. Such fun!

To top off the weekend, Jeff, Jared and I spent the afternoon on the lake. Our friends from church hosted an afternoon on the water. While the boys were our tubing, the ladies had a sweet time sitting by the pier.
