Photo of the Week - July 27, 2008

Friends and Family,

This week I have been especially rich in friendship and joy. It seems as if each day allowed for time with friends...long lunches, dinners in the backyard, and an especially sweet visit from family this weekend. My parents, Jill, Uncle Jack, Aunt Carol, and Justin traveled to Peoria for the weekend. We visited the highlights of Peoria, but the best moment of all was the chance to enjoy dinner with my family and roommates on Saturday night. Truly a fun time as we laughed at Uncle Jack's entertaining tales.

The photos this week were snapped on Sunday. Jill and I were "pretty in pink" as we were having fun in the front yard. We worshiped today in the newly opened Richwoods. It was especially nice to have my family with me at the Grand Opening. http://www.richwoods.org/

May we all remember the rewards reaped from simply spending time with friends.

Cheers,
Jada

Wedding Bliss is the best way I can describe my past week. Jason and Jennifer Keffeler married on Saturday and I had the honor to be the Maid of Honor in the ceremony. Luckily this is a blog with photos, because I am having a difficult time identifying the words to appropriately describe the experience! I laughed, I cried, I danced until the DJ pulled the plug.

Everything about the event was spectacular. Most memorable of all was spending time with soo many friends. This week's photo captures the charm of my friends from Bible Study (which is how the Bride and Groom met!). We are certainly a motley crew! Joy, Sarah, and Jerry, it was great to have you back in town. Jason and Jennifer, we love you and congratulations!

Cheers,
Jada

Photo of the Week - July 13, 2008

Friends,

Welcome to Miami! I headed South this week for fun in the sun in my old stomping grounds. After a day of travel challenges due to weather, I finally arrived in Miami on Saturday in time for Carolina's wedding. Unfortunately, I missed the wedding, but was there to celebrate at the reception.

While I have only had a few days in Miami (I return on Monday night), it has been a fantastic to enjoy the flavor of the city and spend time with friends. This week's photo shows me enjoying brunch on Lincoln Road at the local book store / eatery, Books and Books. The photos of the bride will come next week when I am at home and able to download the pictures...this one is from the camera phone!

Lesson learned (or "re-learned" in this case)...an ounce of patience goes a long way when flying the friendly skies.
Have a blessed week.

Friends,

Long holiday weekends are such a gift. This past long weekend was especially nice with ample time to relax and catch up on life a bit. Could it be that we are already into July and the 2nd half of the year? I'm not sure where the time has gone. I do know that I savored every last minute this weekend, though.

On the 4th, I went with friends to watch fireworks along the Peoria Riverfront. We had a good time chatting and laughing while waiting on the show. Crystal, it was Mad Fun hanging out with you downtown!

I recently read an article on how to photograph a fireworks show, so I took my tripod and tried out the tips. I'm still learning all of the manual settings, but having fun along the way. The bridge in the background is Interstate 74 coming into Peoria. Thanks for snapping the shot, Jennifer.

Enjoy the days in the week ahead.
