A long weekend allowed for a much needed rest and a chance to catch my breath. Jeff and I traveled to Indiana on Friday night. On Saturday, my Aunts and Sister hosted a bridal shower for me. They made me feel like a princess and crowned me with a tiara. I can't imagine a more lovely afternoon. Here are some photos to share the experience.

Summer has arrived in Peoria. It seems as if the spring rain has come to a close and the smell of summer is here to stay. With the sunny warm weather came a lot of activity this weekend.

Jeff and I started off the weekend with showers of love on Friday night. We typically have our church small group meet on Fridays. But, this week we had a bridal shower and invited the boys for the fun too. It made for fun games and lots of laughs.

Friends,

Saturday morning I headed to a race to...Run Like a Girl! I ran in a Caterpillar sponsored 5K in downtown Peoria. Jeff captured this photo of me all smiles before the race.

It has been a hectic pace of life as Jeff and I prepare for the final countdown before the wedding. Last night we considered renting a movie to take a bit of time to kick back. We opted for a walk around the neighborhood as we had no idea what to rent! We are both a bit out of the entertainment scene (actually, we are clueless). Every time we enter the video store we read the descriptions of the movies and still have no idea what to get. We need a list of recommended movies. If you have any recommendations for 13 yrs old and above, send them our way. They can be old releases...chances are we have not seen them.

Yes, I missed last week's post. I have found myself without a camera in recent days. Jeff solved that problem for me this week with his handy camera on his phone!

We had the chance to spend time with Jeff's family this weekend, including his sister Joan up from Mexico. Jeff and I were all smiles and surprised when she gave us a gift to celebrate our upcoming wedding. I'm anxious to make a bright colorful salad to serve in this.
