Photo of the Week - February 22, 2009

Friends,

This Friday night Richwoods Christian Church (The church I attend, http://www.richwoods.org/ ) held a Girls Night Out event. We had a great time playing games (Jaci and I tied at Wii bowling!), eating cookies, laughing, and swapping stories. I've grown immensely through friendships with the gals in the photo (and those that weren't there). A friend is someone that can speak the truth in love and support. This week I have been reminded of this simple fact, and I'm very thankful for the friends in my life. Could a Girls Night Out have occured at a better time?

Enjoy the week.

Friends,

Happy Sunday afternoon! It has been quite a busy weekend, and I'm glad to sit, relax, and post my note to friends and family. I just returned home from a fun afternoon filled with silly putty, static electricity, and chemical reactions with vinegar and baking soda. The local section of the Society of Women Engineers conducted some experiments with kids this afternoon encouraging hands on science education. The event is in conjunction with E-Week (Engineers Week) encouraging future engineering talent. I enjoy the outlet and look forward to some future events with the group facilitating discussions at the high school level.

Jeff and I had a sweet evening out last night. I'm a blessed gal.

And for all of you that asked, no, I didn't see Obama in Peoria. I did watch the streaming video of his message, but didn't see him live.

Have a great week!

Great fun this weekend at the family reunion! We met at the State Park Lodge in Bluffton for food, games, and many laughs. Enjoy some of the snap shots from our day.

Phot of the Week - February 1, 2009

Friends!

It has been a week of many announcements of layoffs and economic challenges at Caterpillar and beyond. I'm still employed, fully engaged in my work, and thankful for the opportunities I have at Caterpillar. This environment is teaching me to give up the sport of Worry. I must say, I have repeated Matthew 6:26 - 28 quite a few times lately. I'm learning to Give it Up to God, Be My Best, and Enjoy Today.

Luckily I have friends that help me stay young and fun. On Saturday I took Becki and her sister Olivia to the Museum. We found ourselves playing in the discovery room and couldn't resist the fun of the mirrors. We thought the image we captured with Becki's mobile phone was quite artistic.

Also, I had quite a day of activity on Sunday. The highlight was seeing Jeff's twin nieces blow out their birthday candles. Really cute!

Enjoy the week and let's not worry!
